Worry is the Opposite of Faith!

by Minister Darrick D. McGhee

Have you ever been around people who worry and complain all the time? No matter what the Lord does for them, they still find something to worry themselves over? Have you ever doubted the Lord’s abilities? Have you ever questioned God’s love for you? So often in our lives, we dance and shout on the outside, but worry and fear within. We murmur about everything and everyone. Nothing is good enough. We even question our God-given blessings. Have you been there? Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, Worry is the Opposite of Faith! The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. When you sit around worrying about your bills, your job, your marriage, your children, your finances, you are actually sitting around doubting the Lord. In your eyes, a positive outcome is impossible. You cannot see how things can or will get better. The Bible declares in Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible. Worry is the Opposite of Faith! Faith allows you to believe even though you have not seen the manifestation yet. It allows you to hold on until your change comes. The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

My brother, my sister, Worry is the Opposite of Faith! Worry is a tool of the enemy. It is used to destroy you and those around you. The Bible declares in Matthew 6:25 - Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Have you ever known someone who worries about tomorrow, without enjoying today? You ask, “How are you doing,” they reply, “I am blessed, but …” It is right there that the enemy has stepped in. How can you say you are blessed, but speak just the opposite? Worry is the Opposite of Faith! You must understand, we all endure challenges. We all face mountains in our lives. Knowing this, it is very important that we live our lives knowing God can and He will.

Thought to Ponder: When was the last time your worrying helped you?
