Is Your Foundation Secure?

As we all know, there are a lot of changes taking place all over the world. Some changes involve finances, some involve health, some involve well-being, and some involve death. During times like this it is extremely easy to become sidetracked and discouraged - and yes, I admit that it can happen to me. However, one way to ensure that you are able to bounceback for a comeback is to secure your foundation.

Everything that is creating begins with a foundation. Without a foundation one doesn't know where to begin. The most common example of a foundation and its' purpose is the foundation of a building. Underlying a building is its foundation, and in most buildings, the foundation is rarely seen. "If it is seen at all, usually only a small portion is visible, but it is there. If no foundation exists, the building soon becomes crooked and warped. In most cases, it will collapse and be completely unusable." (John W. Ritenbaugh)

In this day and time we find security in our 401k's, relationships, salaries, and personal autonomy. However, we must ensure that our foundations are built on faith and trust. First and foremost we must have faith in God and trust in his divine purpose. As stated in Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

I definitely have my days of doubt and confusion; but when I look back over my journey, I remember that it has been my faith that's kept me grounded, humble, motivated, and blessed. God is definitely in control and has a perfect plan for us and as long trust in his word and promise, WE WILL NOT FAIL.

The next time you are facing a situation and begin to worry about your life remember"

100% of self = 0% of God
50% of self = 50% of God
0% of self = 100% of God

Bountiful Blessings only happen when God is operating at 100%, so move out of his way and submit.

As said in Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding."

As it is was asked in my morning devotion:

How much of what we do is really motivated by an implicit trust in God's Word? This is how we can tell whether we are living by faith. We must be honest in our evaluation though. We find it very easy to shade the truth through self-deception. We justify disobedience by rationalizing around God's clear commands or examples, saying that our circumstance is special because . . . (fill in the blank).

God Bless and Have a wonderful day,

A Love Washed Away

The love that was once built on sand has now washed away into the ocean with only precious prints left in the heart; leaving tender memories that are thought about and graced by tears.

It's Better That it Hurts

As I lay awake at 3am amidst a world of tragedy, chaos, and confusion; my mind can't help but to reflect upon past experiences. I'm forced to put my thoughts into some artistic life, hoping for this release to help myself and inspire others.

Being no stranger to pain, I've learned to equate pain into purpose. Over the years I've had several triumphs, yet I can't forget the tears that have been shed in order for the person that you see to emerge. Due to my faith, prayer, and wisdom, I've adapted the phrase "there's a blessing in the lesson". Another thing I'm forced to recall is the lyrics to Kurt Carr's song, "God Blocked It".

Through the disappointments and falls, God was shaping me and breaking me in order to emerge even stronger and better than before. What assisted in this process is the fact that I sought God, trusted God, and acted upon His word. As it is said in Proverbs 3:5, "due not lean unto our own understanding", and when I leaned upon revelation knowledge that only came from God, I found myself in perfect peace. Having peace in the midst of any trial can truly shake a situation, enemy, and pitfall. By not giving in, you maintain power. By speaking life, you gain victory. By giving reverence, you receive grace. By giving praise, you receive blessings.

I've also had my share of disappointments in heartaches but I can look back on each experience and see how God was in it. At the time I felt rejected, unwanted, used, and unworthy, which shaped a discerning spirit of whom I love. I love everyone but I realize that I can't be 'In Love' with everyone; be it friend, relationship, or family. Instead of pointing outward, I chose to seek God and look inward. My lesson was to love myself as God loves me and to see myself as God sees me. With a God-like love for myself, I'm unshaken by the opinions of others and I'm able to trust in my self-love rather than searching that validation from man. With discernment and self-love you find it easier to let go when the situation doesn't seem right or add up.

God gave me strength and he gave me wisdom...and now he has allowed a brief moment of hindsight so that I can remember how trusting in him will lead me into a life of even greater blessing. What I consider to be failures, God used as roadblocks to keep me from a road under construction/destructive path. In the times of success, I received favor and ordered steps. I've learned how to hear God's voice say, "My child, this is not for you"....and I listen.

I've truly been kept and I now see that it's better that it hurt for if I had nothing but pleasure I would be aimless, in despair, and without wisdom.

I never thought I could be thankful for the pain but I am...I thank God for who he is and I'm thankful for each situation because it is the makings of me...

An eagle...
A beacon of success...
Wisdom...
And so I am...

Soaring Like an Eagle

My parents have always referred to me as an eagle and now I know why. I hope that this speaks to you as it has spoken to me.

"Soar Like an Eagle"

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is
approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly
to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.

When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the
wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm.
While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring
above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses
the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds
that bring the storm. When the storms of life come
upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can
rise above them by setting our minds and our belief
toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We
can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that
bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment
in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, if we are really honest to ourselves,
it is not the burdens of life that weigh us
down, it is how we handle them.

Prayer for the Harvest of the Righteous

Dear Father, righteous and gracious God,

You are the God about whom it is written, "He scatters abroad, he
gives to the poor, his righteousness endures for ever."

You are the God who supplies seed to the sower, and gives the
harvest of grain for bread, who multiplies my resources and
increases the harvest of righteousness for me. How I thank you and
praise you for this!

In the name of Jesus Christ, the truly generous Savior of mankind,
I pray. Amen.

Indifference

What ever happened to our true passions?
The dreams that fueled our being? The energy that caused us to live bigger, think greater, and love harder?
It seems now that we are stuck on indifference that contains a selfish state of what we personally can get for the moment.
This indifference has caused us to distrust love and hunger for lust. Hunger for the non-sustaining, non-fulfilling temporary pastimes of this present world.
Aren't we worth so much more? We sell the gold within as though it's worth the amount of paper. We allow others to buy us, burn us, crumble us, and toss us away all because we don't have the passions and beliefs that once drove our hearts.
We must stand for something before we fall for anything and that something must be our moral code. The rule we personally strive to live by. For if we don't set the standard on how we should be valued, we'll continue to allow others to get by...

Your Voice, Your Energy

The voice of your soul speaks softly and the voice of your ego is loud and booming. Spend time being quiet and learn to listen for that quiet voice within. It is the voice of truth, and when you learn to connect with it and trust it, you will instinctively know how to handle situations that used to baffle you. You will discover a new sense of peace and security, and you will feel comfortable in your skin.

Your thoughts create your reality. Stop trying to manage events, people, and situations that are beyond your control. Instead, channel all of that stress and energy into learning how to harness the power of your thoughts. Remember, if you always think what you’ve always thought, then you’ll always get what you’ve always got. Start putting good thoughts in your head by using positive self-talk such as “I am good enough” and “I love and accept myself just the way I am.”

Letting Go - Something Written By Rev. Run (Run DMC)

Life is Too Short

'Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.'
